Wow...talk about being disapppointed... this year's calendar looks..kind of put together last minute. You can tell which ones they put effort into..and which ones they just slabbed on..and gave up alst minute..just so they could get it published..... so..now I feel like sharing my thoughts January - JUMP!
This is a nice fun page….but whats with the rose cheeks? They over done it a little bit. By the way, I didn’t recognize Linda there..her pants are squary. February - there is so much intesity amongst us..we had to take the pictures individually ..BUT IN REALITY WE WORK well behind the screen
Lol..im just poking fun at the rumoured hatred between Louise & Nancy, while the award fighting for best actress amongst the 3 MR ladies..and Kiki who was disappointed she didn’t get nominated for best actress. ACTUALLY...MUST TAKE BACK MY WORDS ON THIS CALENDAR PAGE not being taken together..and after watching behind the scenes..they had no choice but to take only head shots...just watch behind the scenes of January, March, April:
lol the 5 of them shows no battle in reality...lol and quite too :D still i wanted them to have a more calssy photos to flame their veteran status ...oh wel..beggars cant be choosers..dont always get to see them together...and the features i complained about before only looked weird in the photo i guess....lol..or maybe cause i saw the interview..and just adore this month now..LOLZ
March – looks like Halloween is in March in HK
My first thought..WTH? because I see crystals under charmaine’s eyes…if they took it off..it would have been better. Secondly the ladies are all dress up but Roger and Michael looked shabby compared to them.
April – it looks last minute…but not last minute
This is simple..but it has this image its trying to represent..but I cant pin point what it is. It looks very familiar
May – When Madonna Meets Grease
I can't explain what look they are pulling off…but that’s what it looks like to me. Madonna when she first started out..made friends with the people in the Grease movie
June – looks like it was planned last minute
So last minute that they didn’t even give it a proper background and just took a group photo.
July - Ai Ai Captain!
I kind of like it…but what’s with the orange tan across the cheek and nose look? Is it suppose to represent sunshine or a tan? Natalie probably looks most different..only one dressed like boy in this page
August - Ladies who are given supporting roles
This is probably one of the simplest pages. The poses look familiar..have no idea where I saw them from. Oh well…
September - People in suits
The idea is quite nice; I like how they made even the ladies dress up in a suit but still have this sexy appeal to it. They didn’t proportion Michael right though he currently looks like he just stepped in at the wrong time…LOL.
October – Okay..we're not sure what to do with them..Hey I know, why not just waste them and have them do any random pose?
The poses are weird...It’s nice to see Bobby & Gallen!! They must miss each other..although I’m not sure if they were friends before. But they do come from the same generation of actors.
November- We needed a romantic theme without romantic feeling to it
The overall look is fine but something wrong with the Gigi and Ada’s hair. Gigi’s bangs are cut really weird while Ada’s hair style is pulling too much of her face. It makes her look like a witch and ruining her usual pretty face. But overall, it’s a nice page but I know this was planned last minute, because it lacks in the effort to make this page nicer. It looks a bit too plain.
December - Liza Wang is still the Ah Jie of TVB
lol.it just so happens that on anniversary night they were saying Liza is treated like she doesnt exist...but in this picture..she practically gets the spotlight to herself... I see the bit of class in this page but what I don’t like the head bow on liza’s head. It makes her look weird, but the overall concept is quite nice. One of the pages I find looks classy.
Overall, I’m quite disappointed. The past years, they had made it more artistic…and put more effort. But this year, it seems like they did lots of “ just stand against the blue screen and that’s it” So I don’t really like this calendar and I have a feeling this isn’t the same photographer who did the previous years. It looks more like the one who TVB first hired….who had these simple layouts. Sigh...
The highly anticipated TVB grand production The Grand Entrepreneur <金錢誘罪> held its costume fitting ceremony today at TVB City. The series marks the return of some familiar faces to the TVB family, including Ray Lui (呂良偉) and Jamie Chik (戚美珍) who have not worked together since The Flying Fox Of Snowy Mountain <雪山飛狐> in 1985. Other cast members include Gallen Lo (羅嘉良), Anita Yuen (袁詠儀), Kenix Kwok (郭可盈), Joe Ma (馬德鐘), Nancy Sit (薛家燕) and revered veteran Lau Siu Ming (劉兆銘), who is taking a break from retirement to join in the series.
Ray does not seem to have aged at all after over two decades away from the small screen and the ladies joked that he keeps looking so fresh by eating preservatives. Ray said that the key to good health was in nutrition and advised that the best way to keep looking young is to avoid partying late, rising early and not overdoing alcohol. He said that he also likes to practise Qigong and boxing. He added that his secret to a beautiful and loving home was to steer clear of any temptations.
Asked about his fee for this series, Ray said that it was irrelevant. Jamie agreed and said that as long as everyone was happy, then it did not matter too much.
With her recent extended absence from TVB sprouting rumours that her relationship with the company had broken down, Kenix said that everyone was too sensitive before and she has always maintained contact with the station. She said that this was a great opportunity to work with some wonderful talents such as Ray and Jamie. Asked if she has negotiated a higher fee for her return, she admitted that this was the case but did not want to discuss it any further, saying that it was satisfactory. She revealed that she will be playing the mistress who comes between Ray and Jamie's characters in the show. Asked if she will have any intimate scenes with Ray, she said that she would and they will be pretty steamy.
Nancy has recently undergone surgery on her gall bladder and intestines, so she was not able to speak too loudly or move too quickly at the event. She said that she had accepted this production over six months ago, so she did not know at the time that she would have to have the operation. However, the producer has been very accommodating and has rearranged her schedule to begin filming in December. The storyline for the drama is set in a backdrop of a family that owns a bank and the plot tells of how a conman finds a way of gaining power in the company and giving rise to power struggles and conflicts of greed within the family members.

In general, the show was quite boring with the exceptions of a few jokers here and there. It was nice to see Athena Chu and Francis Ng. I think the most entertaining presenters were of course the Best Actress ones: Michael Lai, Adam Cheng, Bak Biu. I had to share it
It was hilarious because the ladies who were interviewed consisted of Sonjia Kwok, Michelle Yim, Nancy Sit, Lee Si Kei, Liza Wang, Susanna Kwan. And when Michelle said she's afraid of making enemies with Liza, Dodo said " You dont have to worry about Liza Wang, no body cares about her !" I was like..OUCH!!
Anyways, then the guys began exposing the ages of Lee Si Kei, Liza Wang, Nancy Sit and Michelle Yim. Hilarious..because Dodo kept telling them to stop doing that...but they just kept saying it. Anyways, so then Lee Si Kei and Liza were supported by Adam Cheng. Nancy was supported by Micheal ( obviously) and Bak Biu supported Michelle. The real surprise came when I looked at the Final Five: Liza Wang, Sonija Kwok, Lee Si Kei, Michelle Yim and Linda Chung
I guess I should have expected it..but this year there were soo many great actresses...I didnt really expect it to be that way. I mean it's a literal slap in the face to Susanna Kwan, Nancy Sit and Charmaine Sheh. OUCH! Especially since Moonlight, Silver and Forensics had higher ratings than Journey..so I didnt expect it.
Overall, congrats to all the winners!! I think this year was tough since many great actors were competiting. Any of them who won..I think I would have been happy with in the Supporting Actress and Most Improved.
FANS...dont feel depressed..BECAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!! KEEP SUPPORTING YOUR IDOLS =]
As many of you have known, TVB Anniversary Awards Show is tomorrow, and I decided to check up on some news for it. Surprisingly, an article that only somewhat relates to the anniversary caught my mind. I thought I would share it with you, but if it doesn't interest you, I hope you guys would just scroll down to my overall message to you all. It's very important.
Nancy Sit Undergoes Surgery
Recently, reporters have found Nancy at a private hospital owned by her brother in-law. She was seen very ill coming out from the doctors and was constantly resting after few steps. After some investigation, they found out that she had fallen from overworking and had just undergone surgery to check on her cardiac system. Due to this, she needs lots of rest and is trying to heal. Thus many may notice that she hasn't been in series a lot, this is because in recent years, she's had some health problems. The reporters state that Nancy would not be able to attend the TVB 41st Anniversary's Celebration Gala. I'm not quite sure what this says...but does this mean she's not participating in The Crime Inducing Effects of Money?? _______________________________________________ Normally when I see her, she always seems so lively and healthy but I guess people can never deny aging or illness. After reading this, I wanted to just shout out to all of you guys to be careful of your health since I know a lot of you has been busy with school and work. So just wanted to tell you guys to let yourselves have a break sometimes and pay close attention to old family members at home. It is said that since the world wars, many of the baby boomers would pass away soon. Which is scary to know that. As well, wanted to say hopefully that Nancy would get well soon and that she gives some time for herself to rest and can come back to television series =].
With TVB Anniversary month coming to an end soon ( TVB Awards this Saturday and then Anniversary Celebration on the 19th) I guess I'll have to squeeze in as much Anniversary posts before the gossip is over. So on November 11, 2008 TVB helds its Sales Presentation Event in which TVB tries to sell its upcoming series to potential sponsors. it's also a night for TVB to promote its artistes...so ofcourse..there is going to be the GOOD, the Bad...and the Heck- That's Really Bad. Ofcourse, hopefully there werent any this time...so lets take a look:
Sammuel Chan: Look a JOCKEY!! The outfit looks weird...in the sense that it makes him look like he's got a big body...but short stubby legs...
Bernice Liu: one of my favourite outfits: nice simple hair left down with the creamy gold coloured dress and simple black heels.
Kate Tsui: I like the peep toes..and the dress is okay... but i think the hair style..dsnt look to nice...looks weird with that middle hair...and too much beads!! bead earrings and bead necklace ..o.0
Myolie Wu: Looks like she and Liza switched some fashion tips. Liza last time had curtains at the Opening Ceremony...and Myolie takes the entire carpet.. I was really disappointed...since Myolie usually has some nice outfits for these events...
Selina Li: she's really into lingerie looking stuff.....the last time there was a sales presentation..she wore lingerie looking stuff too...but I dont like this outfit..because it makes Selina's hips seem really huge...the necklace is pretty though...
Linda Chung: this reminds me of her other dress she wore for the TVB Song awards..but now she has this long left side...the look is okay...but the dress is like..vibrant... if she wants to take away the staring of the colour..she can try a necklace that is more chunkier..atm that necklace looks like strings....and how come she hasnt changed her hairstyle yet...its the same evil middle hair she has in MR... she looked really nice the other day when she was promoting her reloaded album...-_-;; TVB must of did this to her hair!!!
Shirley Yeung: ahh..Shirley keeps improving her dresses..bringing along the TVB fashion advisors was a good idea. I like the overall look. I cant exactly see the jeweleeries she's wearing..but maybe a bracelet..or necklace...wouldn't make it seem so simple
Michelle Yim : firstly..i guess i cant blame her for the weird looking hair style..because she had it for a performance...but that dress....i dont know about you guys..but i find those dresses where they have only one strap and it goes diagonally across..makes it look like those pageant banner thingies....it kind of makes me just stare at that strap...its so out of place...but the overally colours and design is okay...
Shermon Tang: reminds me of those dresses pregnant women wear.....i think its because its plain white..with some added stuff at the top only..so ...it looks funny and because it's short.
Nancy Wu: omg...the mushroom cut!!! I absolutely dislike it...was really disappointed by her choice of outfit this year.it reminds me of those leotards ballerina's wear for their performances and they just slab on a skirt when they arent performing
Kevin Cheng: quite nice...
Ada Choi: as usual Ada has a nice dress ...i really like the nice purple shade!! definetly one of my favourites..almost made a mistake there..because i found i better quality picture..it looks much better!!
Natalie Tong: the look is okay..not bad..i quite like the colour
Toby Leung: did she travel to ancient Rome?? the dress doesn't look that great...especially since it's pure pink..all the way...if she had cut it shorter...and wore black tights too...i think it'd look better...omg...so many people have the pink top..black tights look...is it the new look??
Angela Tong: the look is okay as well...lol..she and Natalie both wearing headbands
Personally..I like guys wearing dark suits....but I'll forgive Ron in this case...because..WHOEVER that is in the picture...wearing that hideous look with the stripes or checkered red pants and ...suspenders and belt...looks REALLY BAD
Yoyo Mung: i think its the simplicity of the dress..that makes it unappealing.....those rings....and the overall simplicity of the dress...reminds me of shower curtains...oh well...i hope she'll do better at the anniversary
Fala Chen: the overall look is nice..but the hair!! Omg....those..bangs...what happened?
Tavia Yeung: Another favourite look....the dress hugs her quite nicely...and good matching of jewelley..i really like the shade of the dress =]
Bowie Lam: i quite like that look..just htose brown leather shoes
Liza Wang:...a pear!! i guess its okay but i dont know why she chose that grees dress that goes all the way up her neck...maybe if the dres..gave her some exposure at the top...like..a v-neck..or something...
Dodo Cheng: i really like that dress she's wearing..and it matches quite nicely with the peep toes =]
Thanks goodness these werent there realy outfits...hahah..Raymond is really into that pose!!!
Charmaine Sheh: i quite like that dress of hers...but it reminds me of something she wore before...at last year's anniversary..but her hair was up..this tossed hair style is nice though...but the belt seems a little bit out of place..maybe choose a wider belt? not quite sure..
Oh dear....hahha..this must have been quite a spectacle....i think they were in wrong ordering...because the colours are suppose to match...but Raymond (green) is opposit of Susanna (blue) while Bosco (blue) is opposite of Michelle (green)
Raymond Lam: I like this suit
But then..when you see in this picture..the scarf if too long..and hangs out...weirdly. Anybody think in this picture..the tope part of Liza..so from the shrug and up..its look like her character in War of In Laws I?...actually in this picture..Liza looks nicer ...i think its because of the shrug...
Kara Hui: I like that shade of blue...but i think she should have paired some jewelleries...atm she looks very plain
Louise Lee: i guess its not too bad.....lol..funny this year its pure silver..last year was pure gold.. but i like this silver outfit more than that gold suit she wore last year at the opening ceremony
Susanna Kwan: how come she didn't dress up?! not sure if this is her first year being at a sales presentation ....maybe thats why...
